Snowbound was drawn for the house at the bottom of the mountain. The design takes its cues from the slopes, the porcelain is snow-white, and twelve pieces make up four three-piece place settings: a 10.75-inch dinner plate, an 8.25-inch accent plate, and a 5.5-inch all-purpose bowl holding 18 ounces. Dishwasher and microwave safe, which counts in a crowded ski house.
Built around the meal after
What follows a cold day outside is chili, stew, soup, and whatever stayed in the pot, so the 18-ounce bowl is the shape doing the real work here. It holds a full serving at 2.75 inches deep, and the accent plate takes the bread that arrives alongside it.
Alpine without the costume
Winter dinnerware drifts toward novelty that turns embarrassing by March. A slope-inspired design on snow-white porcelain stays the right side of that line: wintry enough to suit the season, plain enough that a mountain house can keep using it in July without anyone remarking on it.
Twelve pieces in a shared kitchen
Ski houses run on volume and short turnarounds between meals, so a full service for four that takes both the dishwasher and the microwave is doing the actual work. Nothing in the set asks to be washed by hand in between a late lunch and dinner for six.
