Lincoln is the geometric option. The handle is worked into several surfaces rather than one, so light breaks across it at different angles as the piece turns, and it finishes in a triangular beveled tip. A quill-shaped well extends from there and tapers into the shank. Twenty pieces, four complete settings, 18/0 stainless.
A handle with several faces
Most flatware handles are one plane with a curve in it. Lincoln has a multi-dimensional surface, and that is what makes it stand out among modern designs without resorting to ornament: the interest comes from the shape of the metal rather than from anything pressed into it.
The quill and the taper
The well runs down from the beveled tip and narrows as it reaches the shank, the junction where handle becomes fork or bowl. The name describes it well enough, since it narrows the way a feather quill does, and it gives each piece a direction when a setting is laid out.
Warranted to the original owner
Each piece is warranted against defects in workmanship and materials for the lifetime of the original owner, and the set is dishwasher safe and never needs polishing. Four each of salad fork, dinner fork, dinner knife, dinner spoon, and teaspoon make up the twenty.
