Twelve pieces, mirror finished, in 18/0 stainless. Four dinner forks and four dinner knives are named in that count, which makes this the short version of Icarus: the two shapes that come out at every meal, in a quantity that seats four. It is dishwasher safe, and the polished surface asks for nothing beyond that.
A smaller count on purpose
Not every household lays a five-piece setting. A box of twelve covers four seats with the pieces that appear at every meal, and it also works as a top-up for a drawer where the forks have gone missing faster than the spoons. Fewer shapes, less sorting, same pattern.
Mirror finish, no coating
The shine is polished into the steel. Nothing is layered on top, so there is no plating to wear through at the point of a fork or along a knife edge, and the set looks much the same after a year of dishwasher cycles as it did on the first evening out of the box.
18/0 steel and its limits
Eighteen percent chromium gives the alloy its rust resistance, which holds up through machine washing and ordinary use. Leaving pieces wet in a sink is still the habit to avoid: stainless resists corrosion rather than being immune to it, and that holds for every grade of it.
