Faceta cuts its handles into crystalline planes, so a mirror finish breaks the light the way a cut gemstone does.

Faceta is built around faceting. The handle is worked into crystalline planes, and the mirror polish turns each one into a separate small reflection rather than a single flat sheet of shine. The line was designed for fine homes and restaurants, which shows in the weight: heavy pieces in 18/10 stainless, twenty of them, four complete settings.

How facets change the light

A flat polished handle gives you one reflection. A faceted one gives you several, shifting as the piece moves, which is why cut glass and cut stone look alive on a table. The effect is strongest under a single light source, a pendant over a dining table being the usual case.

Heavy in the hand on purpose

Weight is the second thing you register after finish, and Faceta is deliberately substantial. Restaurant patterns are specified this way because a heavy piece feels balanced rather than flimsy. The box holds four each of dinner knives, dinner forks, salad forks, dinner spoons, and teaspoons.

What 18/10 adds

Ten percent nickel alongside the eighteen percent chromium gives the steel a warmer, deeper tone and a wider margin against corrosion than nickel-free alloys have. It is the specification used where flatware is expected to last decades, and it is what keeps a mirror finish looking like metal rather than like chrome.
