Most Halloween glassware is disposable in spirit if not in material. This five-piece set is not: a 42-ounce decanter at 10.5 inches tall and four 13-ounce double old fashioned glasses, in glass and crystal with the Vintro skeleton treatment. It stages a party in October and pours whiskey the rest of the year, and all five pieces are dishwasher safe.
Forty-two ounces of staging
The decanter is the largest part of the set by some distance, and at 42 ounces it holds more than a standard bottle. Filled with something amber and lit from the side, it does more for a Halloween table than a dozen plastic props, and it stays on the bar cart in November.
Skeletons on serious glassware
The skeleton motif is the joke; the glasses underneath are not. Four double old fashioned at 13 ounces is a real rocks-glass capacity, a large cube and two fingers of bourbon with room to swirl. The theme sits on top of equipment that would work without it.
Machine washable, which is rare
Decorated whiskey sets usually arrive with a hand-wash caveat, and a decanter is the worst thing in a kitchen to dry by hand. This one goes in the dishwasher, glasses included, which is the only reason a seasonal set like this gets used a second year.
