Satin Sand Dune is finished by sandblasting, which leaves the steel matte and faintly granular instead of reflective. The handles swell into a smooth convex curve that fills the palm, giving the pieces a substantial feel with no decoration involved. Forty-five pieces cover eight settings and a five-piece serving set. The reference is desert light: warm, even and nothing flashing.
Why the glare is gone
Sandblasting takes the mirror off the steel and leaves a fine matte face that diffuses light rather than bouncing it back. Under a bright kitchen fixture the difference is immediate, and it is the reason this pattern sits calmly next to stoneware that a polished set would fight.
The convex handle
The handles curve outward along their length, so weight settles against the palm instead of pressing across the fingers. It is a small piece of geometry that changes how a long meal feels in the hand, and it accounts for most of what gives the set its refined, substantial character.
Matte steel that forgives water marks
The 18/0 grade is specified here for everyday durability and rust resistance, and the whole service is dishwasher safe. A matte finish also forgives the water marks that show plainly on polished flatware, so pieces can come out of the machine and go straight into the drawer unexamined.
