Figural means the jar is shaped like the thing it depicts, so this one is a snowman first and storage second. It comes from Merry & Bright, Oneida’s Christmas porcelain line, and the detailing is painted by hand rather than printed on. Fill it with cookies, fill it with candy canes, or leave it empty and it still earns the counter space.
A jar that doubles as decor
Holiday storage usually hides in a cupboard until December and then sits out looking like a plastic tub with a ribbon on it. A figural snowman is the decoration and the cookie jar at the same time, which is one fewer surface to find room for during the month the counter is busiest.
Hand-painted means hand wash
The care instruction is hand wash, and the painting is the reason. Machine detergent and a heat cycle are hard on applied color, and the face and buttons here are exactly that. Warm water, a soft sponge, then back in the box with the ornaments until next year.
Porcelain through many Decembers
Seasonal decor made of resin or printed board gets chipped, faded, and quietly replaced after a few seasons. Porcelain outlasts that cycle, which counts for more on a piece that spends eleven months packed in a box and has a single month to justify itself.
