Salad forks are the first piece a guest picks up and the first one a host notices missing. These four restore that position in a Marquette service, or extend it when the table runs to six and eight. Shorter than the dinner fork, with the beading set closer along a smaller handle, mirror polished over 18/8 stainless and safe in the dishwasher.
Read from the outside in
A formal place setting is laid so the cutlery is used from the edge toward the plate, which puts the salad fork where everyone sees it first. Seven matching forks and one stranger is the sort of small wrongness a host registers all evening and the guests never mention out loud.
Ornament at a smaller scale
The salad fork does not get a trimmed version of the pattern. Beading runs the full border and the end flares exactly as it does on the dinner fork, only over less handle, so the detail sits denser and closer to the hand. Side by side, the two read as one design in two sizes.
Steel, finish and washing
Mirror finish over 18/8 stainless, heavy enough to feel like the rest of the service, dishwasher safe. Tines are the part worth watching on any fork: keep them from being wedged against heavier pieces in the basket and they stay straight for decades of ordinary use.
