The margarita glass earns its odd silhouette: a wide, shallow bowl 4.75 inches across gives salt somewhere to sit and a lime wedge somewhere to perch. True Colors puts one each in purple, red, orange, and blue, at 6 inches tall. Note the care instruction here — these are hand wash, unlike the cocktail glasses in the same collection.
The bowl does the work
A 4.75-inch rim is wide for a glass only 6 inches tall, and that ratio is deliberate: it maximizes the circumference you can salt and keeps a frozen drink spread thin enough to stay cold. It is also why a margarita glass never looks like anything else on the shelf.
Hand wash, and why
Unlike the cocktail glasses in this collection, these are specified hand wash. A wide, shallow bowl on a narrow stem takes the worst of a dishwasher rack, where it can rock and knock against its neighbors. Five minutes at the sink after a party is the trade for keeping all four intact.
