Mingle puts stripes and polka dots on glass, which tells you what kind of evening it has in mind. The four stemless glasses stand 4.5 inches tall and 3.5 inches across, low enough to survive a crowded side table and a guest holding a plate in the other hand. Glass and crystal construction, and the whole set is dishwasher safe.
No stem, no casualties
The stem is the part that snaps, and removing it changes where a wine glass can go: outdoors, on a lap, on the arm of a chair. A 2.5-inch base and a low center of gravity do the rest. Nothing about a stemless glass improves the wine, but it improves the odds of the glass surviving the party.
Pattern that mixes
Stripes and dots on the same piece should not work, and they do, mostly because neither one takes itself seriously. Set four of these out and the table stops looking formal, which is usually the intent. They pair easily with plain dinnerware, since the pattern lives above the plate line.
Built for outside
Stemless glasses travel. These go to the deck, the picnic table, and the folding chair at the edge of the yard without the stem-in-the-grass problem, and the dishwasher takes them back afterward. Four in the set covers two couples or one long evening.
